Black Sea Day 11: Farm Camping

A day in photos!

I hung out at a café to connect to wifi for my French class.
Selim hung out a guyscafé.

Selim hung out at the guyscafé before meeting back up with me.
After my last July class, we went to a hatay doner shop for lunch.
Zurna doner and regular doner
We enjoyed a gas station break. I’m sporting my new gilet jaune. Selim keeps his on the back of his bike.
Another snack break outside A101. Selim enjoys an icecream snack.
We asked about a campsite at the gas station and were directed to a man with a roadside çay shop. He said we could stay on his farm and offered us corba (soup), tomatoes, pepper, and fresh bread to eat.
This was the night that Selim explained Tunuslar in Turkish. This was absolutely hilarious as it is a rather involved story and the fact that Selim was able to convey it to a large degree in Turkish with hand gests was a real milestone for him in his Turkish communication journey. So Tunuslar is a village in Turkey that was founded by Tunisian folks after they helped the Ottoman Empire in a battle against the Russian Empire. Turkish folks were grateful for their help so to this day, a Tunisian flag flies there. Recently replaced by another Tunisian cyclist, Ben Yagoub Samir which is how we found out about the story.
